IT Apprentice

This is an exciting opportunity to join our IT Team as an IT Apprentice.  Each day you will provide first line IT Support across various sites within the trust, troubleshooting various peripheral device issues and assisting with helpdesk duties.

The working hours are from 8:30AM AND 4:30PM Monday to Friday during the school term, with a 4:00PM finish on Fridays.  Your actual salary is £14,416.20 per annum (pay will align with the national minimum wage provisions for apprentices), and this is paid in 12 equal instalments over the year. What we are looking for?

You will have a keen interest in computing/networking and troubleshooting devices and peripherals, providing IT support to the whole school community, while developing and establishing a professional persona and keeping calm under pressure.

In addition we are looking for the following:

•              Ensuring all IT support requests are correctly assigned and categorised within the help-desk system

•              Dealing with enquiries from users by email, phone and in person

•              Performing basic user account maintenance

•              Troubleshooting various classroom device issues

•              Updating, maintaining and creating troubleshooting guides

•              Repairing and replacing faulty IT equipment

•              Liaising with suppliers to replace faulty equipment

•              Basic network maintenance tasks
