Pastoral Leader

The team at The Snaith School are looking for a Pastoral Leader to  provide front line pastoral support for a year group, under the direction of the Head of Lower/Upper school.  Pastoral Leaders will ensure all pupils feel safe, happy and involved in the school community and able to perform to their full potential. 

The working hours are from 8:30am to 4:30pm Monday to Thursday, with a 4.00pm finish on Fridays, during the school term. You will also be paid for an additional 37 hours per year to attend team meetings and training and development outside your normal working hours.  Your salary will be scale point 17, which is £30,060 full time equivalent, actual salary is £25,936, and this will be paid in 12 equal instalments over the year so even when it is the summer holidays, you continue to receive the same payment that month.

Duties include:

  • Supporting and guiding pupils to ensure their physical and emotional wellbeing.
  • Providing support and intervention strategies to meet the pastoral needs of pupils.
  • Providing the first point of contact with parents/carers regarding concerns.
  • Investigate referrals and incidents and recommend appropriate action.

You will have:

  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent, with GCSE Maths and English.
  • Experience of working with young people and families.
  • Experience of prioritising and managing own caseload.
  • The ability to work productively in a pressurised environment.
