We are seeking to appoint a passionate and highly effective Learning Support Officer to start in September 2025, you will work within our team of staff providing for vulnerable young people. The successful candidate will work closely with class teachers, providing students with agreed support to help create and maintain a purposeful and supportive learning environment, particularly helping students overcome barriers to learning, including social, emotional and mental health needs.
The working hours are from 08:30am to 15:30pm Monday to Friday during the school term. You will also be paid for an additional 32.5 hours per year, which enables you to attend team meetings and training and development outside of your normal working hours. Your actual salary will be £20,575 per annum, and this is paid in 12 equal instalments over the year. What are we looking for?
We are looking for an individual who is committed to ensuring every individual child receives the care, support and guidance they need to thrive and be the best they can be. Learning Support Officer's play a vital role in the success of the school, supporting teaching and learning and the development of skills to ensure progress for all. Learning Support Officer's will be required to undertake the necessary training appropriate to the role which will include physical intervention training.
The successful applicant will have good literacy and numeracy skills, the ability to work collaboratively within a team and willingness to undertake the in-house Teacm Teach course as appropriate.
