We are very excited to offer the opportunity for a Cook to join our team at The Hub School. This role will be based in our brand new kitchen facility, equipped with modern equipment designed to enhance our pupils’ dining experience and provide a safe, inspiring environment for food preparation.

As a Cook at The Hub School, you will play a vital role in supporting our catering team to prepare and serve high-quality, nutritious meals that meet the needs of our pupils. Your work will directly contribute to the wellbeing and positive experience of young people who benefit from our supportive and nurturing environment.

  • Work in our newly refurbished kitchen facilities, equipped with modern tools to support your role
  • Benefit from full training provided by one of our Trust schools from June 2026, preparing you for a successful start in September 2026 (travel to and from our school will be required)
  • Help create a welcoming dining experience that supports our pupils’ health, happiness, and readiness to learn

This role is perfect for someone who is enthusiastic about food, enjoys working as part of a team, and wants to contribute to a school community that values wellbeing and personal development.

This is a permanent position, working 25 hours per week term time only. You will be required to work an additional 25 hours during the school holidays to undertake deep cleans and/or undertake training and development. The normal working hours will be between 9am and 2pm, Monday to Friday. 

Your actual salary will be £15,569 per annum, and this is paid in 12 equal instalments over the so even when it is the summer holidays, you continue to receive the same payment that month.

What are we looking for?

We are looking for an individual who has previous experience of preparing food, preferably in a professional kitchen/catering environment with knowledge of food hygiene and safety.
