Behaviour and Inclusion Practitioner (Outreach)

The team at The Hub School are seeking to appoint an Outreach Practitioner for Inclusion & Behaviour Support to work collaboratively with schools, staff and pupils to promote positive behaviour, emotional wellbeing and successful engagement in learning. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and motivated individual to work across both The Hub School and our partner schools, supporting pupils with SEMH and additional needs through practical, relationship-based approaches. The successful candidate will play a vital role in helping schools develop inclusive practice, build staff confidence and improve outcomes for learners.


We are looking for someone with experience of working within education, inclusion or pastoral support who is passionate about supporting pupils with SEMH, behavioural and other complex needs. The role will involve delivering “shoulder-to-shoulder” support, modelling within schools, coaching and mentoring staff, delivering CPD (includingTeam Teach training) and working closely with families and external agencies to remove barriers to learning. The successful candidate will demonstrate resilience, professionalism and a strong commitment to relational and trauma-informed practice, whilst building positive relationships that promote inclusion, engagement and achievement for all pupils.

What are we looking for?

We are looking for an individual who has a good standard of education including numeracy and literacy at level 2 or equivalent, demonstrable experience of working with young people in an SEMH educational setting and a good working knowledge of classroom management strategies.  Due to the complex nature of our pupils, high levels of emotional and physical resilience are needed in dealing with challenging behaviour and complex needs. 

  • Someone who can work well as part of a collaborative team, as well as being self-motivated and able to work independently
  • The school operates on a split site basis with our Short Stay provision based in Welton and the successful candidate will be required to cover both Welton and Anlaby sites, requiring a driving licence and use of a car will be needed for this role
