Teaching Assistant Level 2

Malet Lambert School is looking for individuals who are committed to making a positive impact in the lives of young people to join our large team of dedicated Teaching Assistants.

Teaching Assistants at Malet Lambert School play a vital role in supporting teaching, learning as well as the care and wellbeing of young people within our school. In addition to classroom support, there will also be opportunities to engage with our wider emotional wellbeing and pastoral support provision for pupils. We are incredibly proud of the SEND provision at Malet Lambert, and we are looking for individuals who are committed to ensuring all pupils can thrive and achieve their full potential.

The role will mainly involve working within the classroom alongside teachers to support access to learning for SEND pupils and those with other barriers to learning, providing both general and targeted assistance in the management of pupils and the classroom environment.

The successful candidate will also support and deliver small group intervention programmes, including Guided Reading, numeracy support and other targeted interventions designed to help pupils make progress academically, socially and emotionally. There will also be opportunities to support pupils through emotional wellbeing interventions and enrichment activities such as Accessible Sports, Gardening Club and Life Skills Development sessions, helping pupils to build confidence, resilience, independence and positive engagement with school life.

The working hours are from 8:30am to 3:15pm Monday to Friday during the school term.  You will also be paid for an additional 30 hours per year, which enables you to attend team meetings and training and development outside of your normal working hours.  Your actual salary will be £17,818.85 per annum, and this is paid in 12 equal instalments over the year.  If you are interested in working on a part time basis, please get in touch and we are happy to explore this further with you.
