Senior Administration Officer

We are looking for an organised and detail orientated individual to join the team at Malet Lambert as a Senior Administration Officer.

The post holder will oversee, co-ordinate, monitor and supervise the daily work of the School Administration Officers and Receptionist to ensure the smooth running of the administration and reception services.  To provide specific administrative support to the Deputy Headteacher and Assistant Headteachers.  To cover for the PA as and when required.  To oversee and manage the reprographics environment ensuring the administration team are producing high quality documents, in a cost effective and timely manner.  To manage the Work Experience Programme.  To manage the immunisation arrangements in the school.  To manage the lettings facilities of the school.  To manage the School Trip (Evolve) arrangements for the school.  To manage the banking/petty cash procedures of the school.

The working hours are up to 37 hours per week from 8:30am to 4:30pm Monday to Thursday and 8:30 to 4:00pm Friday all year round. Your actual salary will be £27,254 per annum, and this is paid in 12 equal instalments over the year so even when it is the summer holidays, you continue to receive the same payment that month.  If you are interested in working on a part time basis, please get in touch and we are happy to explore this further with you.

What are we looking for?

We are looking for an individual who has 

  • Excellent written skills
  • GCSE/CSE in English and Maths, grade C or above (or equivalent business qualification)
  • Strong IT skills and a good working knowledge of computer software packages including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Substantial experience of working in an office environment in an administrative role
  • Experience of working semi-autonomously with little supervision
  • Experience of report writing and data analysis
  • Experience of supervising staff
